Leap years in action

What better way to kick off 2012 than with a graph? This shows how the leap years readjust the calendar to keep the summer solstice around the 21st June. Particularly useful is the fact that it’s centred around the year 2000 to show how the century rules are employed. (There is no leap year at the turn of a century unless the year is divisible by 400.)
