Well, I've just updated e17, and e17xplanet is working again. Just goes to show that all problems will go away if you wait long enough.

e17XPlanet is not working with the current e17 CVS (as of 20th March 2008). A fix will be forthcoming shortly....

e17XPlanet 1.04 has been released. It contains a small bug fix (as mentioned previously), as well as adding support for Esetroot and transparent terminals like Eterm.

I've recently discovered a bug in e17XPlanet, where it occasionally decides that e17 isn't running when in fact it still is. This causes e17XPlanet to shut itself down. I've figured out what the problem is, and a fix will be forthcoming shortly. While I'm at it, I'll also add Esetroot support, so e17XPlanet can be used with Eterm.

This is a minor update to fix a bug regarding the temporary directory location, and make the installer and uninstaller compatible with the latest e17 code.

Memory Leak Fixed!

The previously reported memory leak in e17 appears to have been fixed (checked on 6th October), so update e17 from CVS, and feel free to use e17XPlanet as much as you want!

I've discovered that e17XPlanet has uncovered a memory leak in the current CVS for e17, due to the frequency with which it changes the wallpaper.

This isn't really a problem if you don't use Enlightenment for more than a couple of hours at a time, but otherwise you may find your memory being eaten up in an alarming fashion.

I'll be discussing this with the authors in the near future, and will post a message back when the problem is resolved.

Sometime in the next few weeks I'll be switching my site to a new host. This might mean that you have a little trouble accessing it while the DNS servers sort themselves out. Hopefully this won't take too long, but I apologise in advance it it causes you grief. Of course, the likelihood that you care is probably quite small....

I made a small boo-boo with the 1.02 release of e17XPlanet, where the e17XPlanet_enable script didn't work correctly. Since it was such a small thing to fix, I've re-released the same version again. If you've already downloaded version 1.02, please download it again.

e17XPlanet 1.02 has been released. This is a compatibility release for the latest E17 code from CVS (28th May 2007). No new functionality has been added.
